How Does ClearCorrect Work?

person smiling and sitting on a city curb

ClearCorrect is a flexible and effective aligner therapy system that is customizable for patients’ convenience. The first step is visiting our team of dental professionals for your initial appointment. They’ll outline the three different options you can choose from. These are:

  • Unlimited: As many aligners as you need to repair your smile.
  • Limited 12: 12 sets of aligners.
  • Limited 6: 6 sets of aligners.

Depending on how complex your situation is, we may recommend one option over the other. With ClearCorrect treatment, you’ll complete four different alignment phases, each one involving different sets of customized trays that you wear for three weeks. The only times you should take them out of your mouth are when you’re eating, drinking, or brushing and flossing your teeth.

As you progress through the series of aligners, you’ll notice your teeth beginning to shift into their ideal positions. To ensure that your treatment plan is running smoothly, you’ll need to visit our office for routine progress checks and to pick up your next set of trays.

Indications for ClearCorrect

ClearCorrect treatment is a great solution for adults and teenagers who are looking to improve the overall alignment of their teeth without having to sacrifice their appearance. The best way to learn whether the trays will be able to correct your orthodontic problems is to visit your cosmetic dentist in Norwalk. We’ll let you know of any potential limitations. Patients who can benefit from this modern procedure are often looking to fix some of the following issues.

Crowded Teeth

Teeth that are clumped together in your mouth can be difficult to clean, resulting in plaque and tartar buildup and increasing your risk of developing oral health issues. ClearCorrect aligners will gently straighten your smile, making it easier to brush and floss.

Gapped Teeth

Gaps between teeth can make some people feel embarrassed to smile or speak. Over time, these insecurities can have a heavy impact on your self-esteem. Plus, having areas of your smile that are good hideouts for food particles and plaque can cause you to form more cavities than normal. With ClearCorrect, your aligners will help close spaces in your mouth for a smooth and flawless appearance.

Minor Bite Problems

Whether you suffer from an overbite, underbite, or crossbite, these issues can cause jaw pain, teeth grinding, and even digestion issues. Instead of accelerating the wear and tear of your teeth, repair your minor bite problems using ClearCorrect trays.

Benefits of ClearCorrect

Many people don’t look into orthodontic treatments as adults because they believe that metal braces are their only teeth-straightening solution. Little do they know that there’s a procedure out there made just for them, and it’s ClearCorrect. Here are some benefits you’ll be able to enjoy during and after your treatment:

  • Discrete, clear plastic trays that are virtually unnoticeable, allowing you to confidently maintain a professional appearance in the workplace or at school.
  • Removable aligners that allow you to eat your favorite snacks and easily brush and floss your teeth while you’re undergoing treatment. Just remember to take them out before you do!
  • Beautiful results that can boost your self-confidence and erase any embarrassing cosmetic flaws.
  • Healthier teeth and gums, thanks to less gaps and nooks and crannies in your mouth for harmful substances like food debris and plaque to hide in.

If you’re curious about whether ClearCorrect aligners can help improve the appearance and health of your teeth, don’t hesitate to contact our team of dental professionals. We offer several convenient ways to pay, including little to no-interest payment plans from CareCredit!

ClearCorrect FAQs

Can You Drink Coffee with ClearCorrect?

If you’re a coffee-lover, then you’ll be happy to hear that you don’t have to give up this caffeinated beverage once you begin your teeth-straightening journey. With that said, you may have to switch up your routine since wearing your trays for the majority of the day is a priority. Simply put, if you’re used to sipping on your coffee throughout the entire morning, you’ll need to enjoy it alongside your breakfast, lunch, or snack instead.

Is There Anything You Can’t Eat with ClearCorrect?

No, there isn’t anything you need to completely eliminate from your diet. All you need to do is remove your trays, rinse them off with clean, cool water, store them somewhere safe, and eat your meal or snack as you usually would. Our only recommendation is that you stick to a well-balanced, vitamin-rich diet. If you over-indulge on sugary and starchy foods instead, then you’re significantly more likely to develop an oral health problem that will bring your treatment to a temporary stop.

How Do I Clean My ClearCorrect Trays?

There are really only two things you need: a soft-bristled toothbrush and clean, cool water. With that said, some patients like using mild dishwashing liquid or toothpaste as well. That’s okay, but you need to avoid using other household cleaners, like bleach, which contain toxins that are not safe to ingest.

Tip: If you are consistently struggling with dental discoloration, then it’s important to go back to the basics. That includes taking your trays out before drinking dark-colored beverages, like coffee, and rinsing them thoroughly with clean water each time you take them out.

What Should I Do If I Lose One of My ClearCorrect Trays?

It’s important that you do what you can to keep track of your trays, like not wrapping them in a napkin or placing them on your plate while you’re eating. With that said, accidents sometimes happen; there’s nothing to be ashamed of. Before you call our office, carefully retrace your steps, looking in “random” places along the way, like the center console of your car. If you still can’t find them, then give us a call.

Important note: Do NOT move onto the next set of trays in the series without consulting us. Doing so can negatively impact your treatment plan, resulting in considerable delays. The best thing to do is give us a call so we can determine if a replacement needs to be made or if it’s okay to move onto the next set of trays a bit early.

What Happens After I’m Done with ClearCorrect?

Next is the retention phase of your orthodontic treatment. We’ll take impressions of your teeth, have a custom retainer made, and give you specific instructions on when and how often to wear it. This is crucial because we don’t want your teeth to move out of their perfectly aligned positions.
