What is CEREC-3D and how does it work? ... It is a computer age,
state of the art technology, which permits us to restore quickly and
expertly, damaged teeth using a solid block of ceramic material, that is
milled to your exact specifications, right before your eyes, in our
office. This material is color matched to your teeth and NO METAL
is used that can discolor and mar your smile.
The doctor prepares your damaged tooth and applies a thin layer of
reflective
powder
directly on the tooth's surface. Using a special camera, a picture
is then taken, which is actually a micro-sharp optical impression of the
tooth. From this picture, 2 diamond burs work simultaneously to
mill the restoration. The doctor then bonds the newly milled restoration to the
prepared
tooth with the latest in adhesive technology.
